Colonels received forage for 4 horses (war)
Lt Colonels and Majors each received forage
for 3 horses.
Aid-de-camp received Lieutenant's pay plus $24.00
or $20.00 depending on the rank of the general grade
Officer. Aid-de-camps no longer received extra any
rations nor allowance for an extra servant.
Principal Musicians received the same pay
and rations as Sergeant Majors and
Quarter Master Sergeants
Musicians received $12.00 and the same rations as
Privates
Officer subsistence was 30 cents per ration
(per day); forage at $8.00 per month, per horse.
Officers were entitled to receive, for each
servant, the pay of 1 private plus a $2.50
clothing allowance plus 1 ration (30 cents per
day) or about $18.50 per month.
